The Manassas Battlefield Trust is pleased to host retired US Army historian Dr. Kim Holien for

Secrets of Arlington National Cemetery” at the beautiful Winery at Bull Run.

How much do you know about Arlington National Cemetery?  Join retired Army Historian Dr. Kim Holien to discover the truth behind commonly held myths about the best-known national cemetery in the country. Dr. Holien will shed light on the following stories, and more:
  • Arlington National Cemetery and the Custis-Lee Mansion are both erroneously thought of as being owned by Robert E. Lee. Due to a double scandal in the Lee Family this is not true.
  • The original burial of a Civil War Soldier was some five months before the death of Captain John Meigs, son of General Montgomery Meigs, thereby negating that ‘urban legend’ as to the original of ArlingtonNational Cemetery. Dr. Holien will go into detail to bring out the truth of the origin of ANC.
  • Recently there were burials of two unknown Union Soldiers from Manassas that took place in the expanded section of ANC. This section was part of a 12,000 years old Native American Ice Age Camp.

A cash wine bar will be available.  Ticket proceeds benefit the Manassas Battlefield Trust!
