Jon Hickox, President
Jon Hickox owns The Winery at Bull Run and Stonebridge Equestrian Center, neighboring the Manassas National Battlefield Park in Centreville, VA. The Winery at Bull Run, Fairfax County’s largest working farm, producing premium Virginia wines while preserving the area’s 19th-century history. Passionate about protecting the battlefield, Jon co-founded the Manassas Battlefield Trust to support the National Park Service.

A. Scott Neese, Ph.D., Vice President
Scott Neese retired this year from the company he found in 2002. 3D EnviroLogics, LLC, an environmental remediation and consulting firm, provides federal laboratories, hospital facilities, and industry hazardous material decommissioning services that prevent the release of pollutants (i.e., mercury) to the environment during renovations and building demolitions. Dr. Neese’s professional experience includes 15 years as a research scientist and Director of R&D for a manufacturer.
Scott began his lifelong studies of the Civil War at a very young age, spending much of his childhood touring battlefields. Battlefield preservation and visits are critical to our understanding of our national identity and the painful history that continues to divide us politically and socially today. Conservation of natural spaces is an additional benefit of preservation aligned with his own personal recreational interests (e.g., fishing and cycling).
Scott received a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences from Washington & Lee University and his PhD in Chemistry from Johns Hopkins University. He resides in Earlysville, Virginia.

Childs F. Burden, Treasurer
Childs spent over 40 years as a partner in the Secor Group, a venture capital partnership. A graduate of the University of Virginia and a Chartered Financial Analyst, he helped found the Virginia Piedmont Heritage Association in 1995. He has also served on the boards of the Civil War Trust, the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation, the Virginia Outdoors Foundation, and the Land Trust of Virginia.

Maureen Finnerty, Secretary
Maureen is a founding member of the Manassas Battlefield Trust. She spent 30 years with the National Park Service serving as superintendent of Everglades and Olympic National Parks, and held other senior management positions in Philadelphia and Washington, DC. She also taught history and government at the high school and college level, and worked for the US Senate.
Since retirement she has remained active and involved with several national park and other non-profit volunteer groups.

Joseph Eaves
Joseph Eaves is a former President of the Manassas Battlefield Trust and the lead lobbyist for a major business trade association in the Washington, D.C. area, concentrating on energy policy. His background includes leading government relations for the National Park Foundation and a portfolio in energy, environment, appropriations, science, technology, and Interior.

Russ Muter
Russ Muter has volunteered at Manassas National Battlefield Park since 2008 and is a founding member of the Manassas Battlefield Trust. A New Jersey native and retired CPA focused on public accounting, banking, and higher education, he has served on multiple nonprofit boards.

Winston Watt
Winston spent four decades in Human Resources, including roles at Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems. He along with his wife, also his business partner, operated a successful event venue in Warrenton. Winston is a co-founder of the Warrenton Preservation Alliance which is dedicated to preserving the historic nature of the community.

John Stirrup
John T. Stirrup is a founding member of the Manassas Battlefield Trust. He was appointed to serve in the Reagan Administration and was Chief of Staff to Representative Tom A. Coburn. Elected to the Prince William County Board of Supervisors in 2003, he was re-elected in 2007 and served as Vice-Chair in 2008.

Kimball Brace
Kimball Brace is President of Election Data Services, Inc., providing redistricting software, geographic and demographic databases, and technical support since 1977. Kim has served on the Prince William County Historical Commission, including a term as chairman and as the County’s General Registrar, and the Washington Capitals Fan Club. He is also involved in the Bull Run Civil War Round Table in Centerville.

John L. Nau, III
John L. Nau, III serves as Chairman and CEO for one of the largest U.S. distributors of Anheuser-Busch products. Based in Texas, John is deeply involved in civic, community, and philanthropic efforts. He has chaired the Advisory Council on History Preservation and the Texas Historical Commission. He also sits on boards for the National Park Foundation and American Battlefield Trust. John established the Nau Foundation in 2007 and, supporting historic preservation and education initiatives.

Christy Forman, Membership & Outreach Coordinator
Christy Forman spent twelve years working for the National Park Service at Civil War sites Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Antietam National Battlefield, and nearly four years as an interpretive park ranger and education coordinator for Manassas National Battlefield Park. During her time with the NPS she served on the management teams for seven different Civil War Sesquicentennial events. After her older son was born in 2016, she decided to leave her full-time position, with the hope of finding a way to remain involved in her passion of preserving and sharing the history of the Civil War. As such, she was thrilled to accept a position with the Manassas Battlefield Trust. She received her bachelor’s degree in history and historic preservation from Shepherd University, and a certificate in museum studies from Northwestern University.

Reid Clark, Development Manager
Reid has help a life-long passion for National Parks, driving his career in historic preservation and public policy advocacy. He has previously worked for the United States House of Representatives and the American Battlefield Trust, gaining experience in legislative affairs, stakeholder engagement, federal grant management, and community relations.
